CLIENT COLLABORATION
ACCESS Health International is a global health policy think tank with a mission to improve healthcare access and quality worldwide. With a presence in multiple countries, ACCESS Health drives health innovation through extensive research, advocacy, and advisory services. Their comprehensive approach influences policies and health systems across various regions, making their work essential to global public health.
OBJECTIVE
We aimed to create a world-class website highlighting ACCESS Health's extensive global impact. The new website needed to showcase their wide-ranging health programmes, ensuring clarity and accessibility for stakeholders. This required a robust structure to display their workstreams, themes, and public health focus areas while maintaining a professional, user-friendly design that reflected their standing as a global thought leader.
CHALLENGES
1. Extensive Content Requirements: With 67 health programmes and over 28,000 words of content, the sheer volume of information needed to be organised and presented clearly across the site. Ensuring that each programme was accurately represented while maintaining the client's strict editorial guidelines was significant.
2. Multi-layered Tagging System: One of the most complex aspects was implementing a three-tiered tagging system for their Workstreams, Themes, and Public Health Focus Areas. The site needed to allow users to filter programmes by these categories and display the results chronologically, from the latest to the oldest.
3. Technical Issues: During development, persistent glitches caused bullet points and critical lists, such as collaborators and donors, to disappear. These issues required immediate troubleshooting to ensure a seamless and functional user experience.
4. Frequent Revisions: Given ACCESS Health's strict design guidelines and the accuracy required for health policy content, there was a constant back-and-forth with the client. This made the design and content process time-intensive and required meticulous attention to detail throughout.
CONTENT STRATEGY
Our content team meticulously crafted and organised over 28,000 words of content, ensuring that each of the 67 programmes was accurately described while adhering to the client's style and editorial guidelines. The structure allowed for easy navigation of their health policy work across regions and categories.
TAGGING SYSTEM
The development team implemented a three-layered tagging system, allowing users to explore programmes by Workstream, Theme, and Public Health Focus Area. This system ensured that all relevant programmes were presented chronologically on each page, making it easy for stakeholders to find the latest updates.
DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT
The website was built on WordPress, providing flexibility in managing the large content volume. Multiple design iterations were completed to meet the client's exacting standards, particularly around the landing page video. A key focus was ensuring the site was visually engaging while maintaining accessibility and professionalism.
CLIENT COLLABORATION
Given the client's involvement at every stage, our team maintained continuous communication, adapting to frequent revisions and ensuring that the site reflected ACCESS Health's brand identity and content accuracy.
